The following challenges await you:   

  • manages and drives infrastructure and ramp-up projects at customer sites 
  • provides subject matter expertise on processes for making optical fiber for telecommunication from synthetic quartz glass materials, advises both external customers and internal engineering in this regard
  • maintains and expands an active network of process engineers staff at the customers, internally, and at equipment suppliers
  • constantly strives to optimize the state-of-the-art processes regarding cost efficiency and productivity in cooperation with customers and/or equipment suppliers
  • will travel internationally to global destinations, including stays over extended period of time as needed
  • will work in an international team located in three continents


Your profile:  

  • university degree in Engineering
  • relevant work experience (> 3 years) within optical fiber manufacturing, ideally as a process engineer in an industrial fiber draw plant
  • proven track record of solving complex technical problems, taking a detail-oriented, data-driven approach to finding feasible solutions
  • strong project management skills with the ability to push the project to conclusion
  • able to comprehend and estimate commercial boundary conditions and take them into account 
  • aspiration to constantly improve the state-of-the-art processes
  • outgoing personality with good communication skills to "sell" the solutions to stakeholders and to foster personal relationships to his expert network
  • excellent English skills in speaking and writing, German is a plus.
  • drivers licence


The location of the position is also possible at our site in Buford (USA).
