Heraeus Quartz North America, LLC. has an immediate opening for a talented Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Team at our Buford GA facility.  The Maintenance Tech II is an important part of the manufacturing process with the primary responsibility of repairing and maintaining production equipment and facilities to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.

 

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Performs preventative maintenance on plant facilities and production equipment.
  • Provides emergency maintenance for plant facilities and production equipment.
  • Works with engineering in installing or modifying equipment.
  • Modifies equipment and performs repair projects as necessary to maintain the facility and production operation. 
  • Assists with scheduling and procedures for preventive maintenance of all plant equipment.
  • Coordinates contractor support as required.
  • Evaluates and recommends changes to production and facility equipment to improve production process and equipment reliability.
  • Documents changes made to equipment, systems, procedures and facilities.
  • Provides Maintenance Assistant Manager and Maintenance Manager with information to assist in the preparation of annual maintenance budget.
  • It is an essential function of this position that the incumbent work flexible hours as required by management, including, but not limited to, rotating shifts, being on-call, and working weekends when needed.

What is required for this role: 

  • Associate degree in industrial maintenance or other maintenance-related discipline, or equivalent experience, preferred.
  • Minimum of five years in a maintenance environment; experience must include all areas of maintenance (i.e., electrical, mechanical, control systems, electronic systems, welding, pipe fitting)
  • Minimum of two years electrical and electronic systems troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Must have advanced knowledge and skills and considerable experience in repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient Microsoft office suite. Experience with maintenance CMM software preferred.  
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism, and leadership ability; exhibit a high level of motivation and initiative with the ability to meet deadlines.
