Heraeus Quartz North America, LLC. has an immediate opening for a Electrical Engineer to join our Maintenance team at our Buford, GA. location. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and execute a total productive maintenance program, improve machine reliability throughout the plant utilizing data driven methods, and to perform advanced troubleshooting to increase machine availability.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on plant equipment and machinery to identify potential issues and address them proactively.
- Perform repairs and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical malfunctions including the ability to provide after-hours support (late night, and/or weekends).
- Develop and implement TPM schedules and procedures to maximize equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Collaborate with the production team maintenance managers to plan maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and equipment history records.
- Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in plant maintenance to enhance efficiency and optimize equipment performance.
- Coordinate with external service providers and contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance tasks.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards during maintenance activities, including lockout/tagout procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
- Train and mentor junior maintenance staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in plant maintenance. This includes setting goals, assigning projects, and making sure they have the tools and knowledge to excel.
- Assists in developing and coordinating plans for reconstruction or installation of new equipment, machinery, and capital projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
What is required for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, electrical and controls background required.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in maintenance engineering.
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism, and leadership ability; exhibit a high level of motivation and initiative with the ability to meet deadlines.
What is desired for this role:
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, DMM, ammeter, control instrumentation and Profibus/ethernet and serial communication protocols.
- Siemens PLC installation and troubleshooting experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office suite, autocad and strong presentation skills.
- Ability to lead projects from conception to implementation and fully document them.
