The following challenges await you:

  • Assume technical ownership over assigned process area and apply engineering expertise to stabilize and continually improve the process, eliminate waste, ensure product quality meets customer expectations, minimize scrap, and drive down costs.
  • Provide day to day leadership, technical support, expertise, problem solving, and hands on troubleshooting to operations and maintenance.
  • Scale-up and industrialization up new processes and products.
  • Analyze process and quality data to monitor the process, resolve quality problems, and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Apply data driven process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, DMAIC, and PDCA to drive process improvements.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to resolve production and process issues.
  • Implement LEAN concepts in assigned process areas.  Support continuous improvement efforts though leadership of Kaizen teams.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, R&D, Project Engineering, Quality, and Sales departments to achieve corporate goals.

Your Profile:

  • BS/MS Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Engineering or related discipline.
  • Three or more years engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to understand, analyze and improve complex processes.
  • Proficiency accessing and analyzing large sets of data using commercially available software packages such as JMP, “S”, “R”, MATLAB, and Minitab. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work closely with shop floor personnel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in Optical Fiber, Glass, or related High Temperature processes.
  • Experience with Clean Room
  • Experience with commercially available drawing packages.
  • Experience with Siemens PLC.
