Heraeus Quartz North America, LLC. has an immediate opening for a Process Engineer to join our Engineering team at our Buford, GA. facility.  The Process Engineer is a critical member of the Engineering department, responsible for assuming technical ownership of assigned process areas and, utilizing engineering, continuous improvement, and project management skills, improve and optimize the process areas to achieve company goals.

 

Your Role and Responsibilites:

  • Assume technical ownership over assigned process area and apply engineering expertise to stabilize and continually improve the process, optimize yield, eliminate waste, ensure product quality meets customer expectations, and drive down costs.
  • Provide day to day leadership, technical support, expertise, problem solving, and hands on troubleshooting to operations and maintenance.
  • Analyze process and quality data to monitor the process, resolve quality problems, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with operations to establish and meet department level KPI’s.
  • Manage engineering and capital project as assigned.
  • Industrialize and scale up new processes and products in assigned area.
  • Implement innovative solutions to resolve production and process issues.
  • Apply engineering controls to improve safety.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, R&D, Project Engineering, Quality, and Sales departments to achieve corporate goals.

 

What is required for this role:

  • A BS/MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 0-5 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Clean Rooms, commercially available drawing packages and with Siemens PLC.
  • Willing and able to work closely with shop floor and Maintenance personnel in a hands-on capacity. 
  • Knowledge of non-destructive testing methods, welding methods and weld characterization preferred.
  • Computer literate and knowledgeable about general hand tools.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds without strain and needs to have a Quality First attitude and a strong team spirit tohelp keep equipment running within process specifications.
  • Must stand for several hours at a time while performing their main job functions.
