Your role and responsibilities

Job Summary - oversees all aspects of Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Development, Contract Governance and Spending activities for mechanical, electrical and electronics materials, component parts, equipment, and services with the primary objective to minimize the organization's overall costs and to support Operations, Custom Engineering, and Customer Service requirements, and to improve product value (Design-to-Value).


  • Supports in development and implementation of procurement strategy for respective area, i.e. best cost country sourcing with new suppliers, drive standardization and value engineering, manage total cost of ownership (TCO), improve the organization's buying patterns in cooperation with the dedicated colleagues.
  • Drives effective vendor management and builds up long term relationships with preferred suppliers; negotiates and maintains long-term contracts / agreements and partnership agreements with Key Suppliers.
  • Makes supplier selection decisions and allocates supplies according to Best Cost (Country) Sourcing while leveraging global markets and global organization. Seeks out and qualifies new vendors to support the supply chain and mitigates single source supply risks.
  • Identifies and executes cost reduction opportunities/programs/strategies to reduce costs (Supply Chain).
  • Ensures compliance with relevant risk, environment, safety and other regulations.
  • Prepares and issues RFQs (Request for Quote) and inputs information received into ERP system.
  • With regards to Purchase order management - validates Purchase Requisitions (completions & correctness) and issues POs (purchase order) on complex or specialized parts & follows up on entire PO process (Maintains order confirmations from vendors and expedites materials as needed) and contracts coverage to support production schedules and departmental requirements.
  • Leads escalation in case of time or quality issues (refer to escalation scheme). Contacts vendors regarding adjustments, incorrect material, or delivery problems. Coordinates corrective actions. Monitors status of invoice adjustments.


What is required for this role

  • BA degree or equivalent in mechnical engineering or electronics or business or related subject or relevant experience. 
  • At least 3+ year strategic sourcing experience supporting a global matrix organization.
  • An industry expert with experience in manufacturing industry.
  • Proficient in SAP and office applications.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, or other technical material.
