This position provides process engineering design and technical services to the Wilmington manufacturing plant.  Works with members of the other departments and production to develop and improve production processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs and increase productivity by identifying and implementing optimal changes in methods, procedures, equipment and systems.


Your Role & Responsibilities:


  • Provide engineering production support including but not limited to problem solving for design, build, modification, optimization and adaptation of key manufacturing processes.
  • Provide engineering drawings and specifications, interpret blueprints, drawings and technical specifications; compose reports.
  • Provide jig, fixture and tool design, request for quote, sourcing, assembly and modification
  • Provide project management for process and product improvements and development. 
  • Assess both new and existing equipment and/or processes for up-time, yield, cost effectiveness, efficiency, safety, quality and productivity, new product development, continuous process improvement and daily shop floor support
  • Receive and integrate new technologies to improve process capability while ensuring proper processes are followed
  • Assist in the design of new equipment and machinery processes to support the in-house requirements of manufacturing and engineering and also for new and existing customer requirements.
  • Provide support for the installation, commissioning, use, decommissioning and disposal of production and supporting equipment


What is required for this role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering - BSME
  • Three years of Engineering experience in an industrial environment preferred.
  • Experience with project management, process development, statistical data analysis and SPC is preferred.
  • Direct experience in fused quartz or glass processing is a significant plus.
  • 2D/3D CAD experience.
