Your Role and Responsibilites: 

  • Responsible for set-up and operating equipment/tools to create / modify raw materials to produce powders for development and pilot production.
  • Set up machinery such as kilns, Rotary evaporators equipment, mills, mixers and oversee its functioning. Follow documented instructions, as well as calibrate equipment to follow product specifications. Follow strict company and industry safety regulations, as well as a tightly controlled sequence of functions and equipment programming functions. 
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with other operators and supervisors, as well as attend regular training sessions for updates on equipment use. Conduct day to day activities and provide training to team members on relevant industry processes and equipment operations safety.
  • Must be self-sufficient and work well with minimal supervision and must be able to detect and correct program errors in a timely fashion.
  • Properly and safely load and unload raw materials into machinery, as well as change out tools as required.  Prefer experience using high precision scales, calipers, micrometers and other small tools.
  • Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on area machinery.
  • Follow directions, SOP's, and documented protocols.
  • Able to clearly report progress on all activities within area.

 

What is required for this role:

  • Education
    • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent with 5 plus years manufacturing. Or
    • Associates degree with 2 plus years experience.
  • Previous experience with chemicals or powders, such as ceramics, pharmaceutical or food production preferred
  • Experience working in a clean room/controlled environment desirable
  • Comfortable with basic math and fractions to track and record weights and process measurements.
  • Computer Literate and Knowledgeable about general hand tools
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds without strain and needs to have a Quality First attitude and a strong team spirit to help keep equipment running within process specifications. 
  • Must stand for several hours at a time while performing their main job functions.
