  • A primary responsibility of this position is to lead, develop, innovate and optimize manufacturing capabilities and capacities in alignment with the organizational goals, strategies and priorities. Manage operations activities, resources and priorities as measured by EHS, Financial, Delivery and Quality metrics. 
  • Develop and lead a team capable of managing all aspects of the production environment, achieving safety, production, cost and quality goals, and meeting customer requirements.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at the management level to develop and implement production systems and processes. Participate as a member of the Site Leadership Team.
  • Observe and control production budgets; monitor the cost and effectiveness of production activities to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and achieve delivery, quality, and financial targets. Research, evaluate and recommend investments in, capital equipment and systems, or other assets that will enhance the organization’s manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Ensure that the manufacturing activities meet established targets and operational excellence standards. Lead and works with continuous improvement teams on initiatives to improve safety and/or efficiency of existing processes, procedures and/or expenditures.
  • Coordinate and account for maintenance, quality, engineering, scheduling and lean production within each operational area of responsibility. Interface with R&D and Sales to implement/adapt the production process for new product introductions.
  • Ensure compliance with all site, divisional, corporate, federal, state and local applicable policies, programs, guidelines, laws and regulations; includes but is not limited to EHS and HR related policies.
  • Develop and maintain a favorable employee relations environment and work with staff on their personal growth and development goals to ensure employees feel encouraged and motivated to contributed at their full potential. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws.Supervisory responsibilities include the selection, training and development, assigning work, and performance management of employees.


We are looking for people who are not just open to new ideas, but want to bring fresh thinking, energy and a creative perspective to their work. Some of the traits and qualifications the ideal candidate would possess include:

  • A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field and a minimum of 10 years of experience in chemical production are required.  A Masters degree is preferred.  Must have 5 or more years of production or plant leadership experience. The equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. 
  • A respect for and adherence to environmental, health and safety standards is required.  Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate in a professional manner are required. 
  • Must have the ability to assign and delegate work, manage conflict, problem solve, answer questions and evaluate results of performance. 
  • Must be able to visualize and assess abstract ideas to develop and implement structured plans, and ability to define and lead teams to goal completion.
  • Project management skills, team development skills, the ability to multi-task are required. 
  • Computer proficiency in SAP system as well as MS Office is required. 
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodology and ISO standards is required.
