Here are just a few of the things you will get to do: 


  • Develops new products for Heraeus Epurio by utilizing skills in organic synthesis of heterocyclic compounds along with the development and characterization of materials to be used within the semiconductor industry.
  • Develops purification techniques to remove impurities, such as trace metals ions.
  • Utilizes expertise to formulate hypotheses and devise novel solutions to technical problems to accelerate development of new products.
  • Conducts research activities supporting the design of new products to predetermined customer or industry specifications or the modification of existing products for new applications.
  • Assists in identifying and resolving problems or customer complaints regarding existing products and originate formula or process changes for new applications.
  • Assists in troubleshooting issues that arise in chemical manufacturing.
  • Analyzes organic compounds to determine chemical or physical properties, composition, structure, relationships, or reactions via analytical tools (ie. F-NMR, FT-IR, LC-MS, GC-MS, TLC, UV-vis).
  • Coordinates with other departments in the field (ie. Sales, quality, operations, engineering, EHS).
  • Assists in the transfer of developed products from R&D phase to process development / production.



We are looking for people who are not just open to new ideas, but want to bring fresh thinking, energy, and a creative perspective to their work. Some of the traits and qualifications the ideal candidate would possess include:


  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 2 years’ experience of laboratory experience. Experience should be in synthetic organic chemistry within the semiconductor industry or related field. The equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Must have the ability to schedule and prioritize effectively.
  • Must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Self-starter with an attention to detail.
  • Exhibit a high level of persistence, motivation, and initiative.
  • Organizational skills, teamwork skills, and the ability to multi-task is needed.
  • Perficient with Microsoft office and chemical drawing software (ie. Chem-doodle / Chemdraw).
  • Experience with NMR processing software (ie. MNova) is preferred.
