Your Role and Responsibilities:

 

•    Provide direction for all Manufacturing areas to Operators and Leads including setting of goals, standards, and/or expectations for areas. 

      Schedules and coordinates production personnel, equipment and activities. Maintains head count levels with production requirements.

•    Perform annual employee performance reviews and track the progress of each individual's development plan/goals.
•    Perform disciplinary actions as needed. 
•    Initiates process changes to continually improve efficiencies.
•    Maintains department costs within budget guidelines.
•    Oversees safety and housekeeping practices in the production area.
•    Coordinates and schedules personnel for training classes.  Trains employees in assembly practices, testing procedures, material handling and repair processes.
•    Coaches Lead Operators on production goals and quality expectations.Provides technical assistance, support and follow ups to Lead Operators in areas as Non-conformance, scheduling, line organization among others.
•    Monitors production quality on an on-going basis.  Makes adjustments to process to maximize product quality.
•    Enable effective communication between management and operators.  Communicate with management and/or subordinates to resolve employee concerns and complaints.
 

 

What is required for this role: 

  • BS Engineering degree preferred
  • 5 years experience in manufacturing environment preferred
  • 3 years of supervisory experience a must
  • Language Skills: Good communication skills, Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Attendance: At a minimum ability to work at standard business hours.
  • Critical Thinking/Analytical Skills: Ability to effectively analize data, perform investigations and,  improve processes with minimal direction and information.  
  • Demonstrate high level of initiative and creativity. Project Management Skills preferred. Ability to make fast and effective decisions.
  • Conscientiousness: Demonstrate exemplary attendance; promote continuous improvement.  Be respectful of coworkers and embrace high quality standards.  Attention to detail.
  • Leadership: Distinguished through consistent display of leadership by example in accordance with HMC Ethics statement.  Ability to anticipate and practice participative management style. Supervisory skills required.
