In this position you will lead strategy development and execution to grow the Heraeus Medical Components business, with a focus on the neurovascular and peripheral vascular market segment. The ideal candidate will be a Commercial Leader that is able to effectively analyze market opportunities, define the roadmap, engage with customers and internal stakeholders and, in close partnership with the sales, product development and operations teams, leads all aspects of the product management lifecycle.


This position may be located in Fridley or White Bear Lake, Minnesota.  


Your Role and Responsibilities include:

Market Strategy & Analysis

  • Set the long-term vision and strategy for assigned products, embracing the Heraeus Medical Components mission and vision
  • Identification of market potential, customer needs, competitive environment
  • Lead the market and product strategy development for the neurovascular segment, and communicate this strategy to all of the relevant participants and stakeholders
  • Understand the business end to end and leads the execution of the strategy with a GM mindset
  • Develop processes and criteria that gauge technical and market risks as well as sales and value potential
  • Scan the market in order to identify and propose M&A, alliances and licensing opportunities


Business Plan Creating & Implementation

  • Define the product portfolio roadmap that accounts for and integrates market trends, customer needs and financial objectives
  • Develop and communicate a formal business plan for a product portfolio, including specific investments, make or buy decisions and resource plan
  • Achieve growth objectives including market share, revenue, profit, and return on investment for all the products within portfolio and with key customers
  • Responsible for the price of the product, establishes and manages costs and margin targets for the segment. Creates pricing guidelines for product portfolio that include margin targets within framework set by the Executive Leadership Team
  • Ensure commercial success of product portfolio in all phases of its product lifecycle from concept to end of life
  • Partner with the sales organization to develop and implement Go to Market strategy
  • Defines the priorities for Sales and Product Development teams
  • Implement efficient processes that ensure alignment between Sales and Product Development
  • Remain close to the tactical elements of the organizational execution


New Product Development & Launch

  • Partner with R&D and Operations to develop product capability and technology roadmap
  • Create business cases to define and value opportunities in the specified market segment
  • Lead processes for customer project prioritization and guide, prioritize and redirect (as needed) engineering activities to ensure a timely delivery of customer projects
  • Enable project success by overseeing project execution, utilizing data to challenge projects teams regarding strategy and underlying assumptions
  • Decides and partners with R&D to define priorities for platform developments
  • Balance Heraeus Medical Components funded customer developments versus self-funded developments within product portfolio
  • Partner with Marketing to lead and implement promotion activities for product portfolio


Customer Experience

  • Collect and interpret voice of the customer (VOC) in order to define long-term customer needs


What is required for this role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of industry relevant experience required
  • Experience in interventional and neurovascular products and procedures strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated consistent growth in leadership roles ideally in medical B2B organizations
  • Experience leading strategy and understanding of specified market segments
  • Gemba experience with internal execution and customer
