This position will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the production of small and pilot scale builds of medical devices and medical device assemblies.

The following challenges await you:

  • Ensure a safe work environment for all R&D pilot projects and compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical leadership and operational oversight of R&D pilot team (approximately 13 employees).
  • Partner with design development and Process Development to optimize and implement new processes and technology at the pilot scale.
  • Train the team in the functional tasks necessary to successfully perform their duties.
  • Schedule activities of pilot team employees and ensure the tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide personnel career development, coaching, and feedback including performance management discussions with each direct report.
  • Train and oversee compliance with Quality Assurance policies and procedures that relate to the pilot team.
  • Write and review standard operating procedures, batch records, and deviations reports.
  • Assist in managing raw material receipt and release system.
  • Assist the quality team to keep the equipment in a functional and calibrated state.
  • Develop and monitor metrics to track operational performance.
  • Develop goals and set priorities to meet safety, business and quality needs of customer on-time and in-full.
  • Lead initiatives for the continuous improvement of safety, quality, and operations.
  • Ensure Pilot Operators are clocking in jobs correctly, following work instructions, data entry
  • Follows set training program for position and ensures training requirements are up to date. 

 

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related discipline required
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a laboratory/pilot team/R&D environment and a minimum of 2 years of management experience.
  • Demonstrated excellent leadership and managerial skills as a supervisor
  • Experience in catheter, leads and guidewire manufacturing processes is desirable.
  • Successful demonstration of leadership, management, teamwork, in manufacturing or technical operations
  • Must be detail oriented, accurate, and have excellent organizational and record keeping skills.
  • Knowledge of safety, quality systems, and quality assurance concepts is required.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal English skills
