As a member of the Process Development Team, you will use CAM grinders to develop and optimize the creation of ground wires for medical device use. The ground wire projects will range from rapid prototype to transfer-to-production. You will work closely with the engineer for wire grinding within the process development team.

 

This position is located in Fridley, Minnesota.

 

The following challenges await you:

  • Produce prototypes of new product designs for engineering evaluation and testing. These wires will range from rapid prototype jobs and on occasion go all the way through the development cycle, including product and equipment validation (IQ, OQ, and PQ).
  • Provides input and works with engineering to develop new and improved processes, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Ensure that all setup data is captured, recorded, and able to be applied by other sites within the company.
  • Assist in development, writing, and capturing images and/or details for work instructions.
  • Act as the first point of contact for production to help with technical support, troubleshooting, problem solving, and repair activities for new product launch and/or transfers.
  • Grind parts for characterization studies, including the execution of design of experiments (DOEs), to establish and document process windows and controls.
  • Demonstrate safe work habits, maintain clean and safe work area.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

 

Your profile:

  • High School Diploma required; 2-year technical degree strongly preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years of level I technician experience within medical manufacturing
  • Able to demonstrate understanding of manufacturing processes and principles in relation to Quality outputs: GMP, impact to critical dimensions on product performance, ERP/SAP
  • Ability to read and provide input to the creation of engineering documents: drawings, specifications, work instructions, inspection needs
  • Experience in precision machining, centerless grinding, OD grinding, CNC operation, and automated inspection equipment preferred.
  • Must be proficient in reading and writing English; Technical writing documentation ability required.
  • Comfortable working in a self-directed, fast-paced, team environment and giving or asking for instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to both identify problems and solutions
  • Utilizes good judgment in setting work goals and priorities and will follow documented procedures with accuracy.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be adaptive to change and must support a variety of work assignments to support internal and external customer expectations.
