Your Role and Responsibilities:

 

  • Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the planning and execution of site improvement projects (Lean & Six-Sigma) to fulfill the strategic objectives of the business. 
  • Executes the appropriate engineering tasks necessary to achieve the most economical production while meeting or exceeding quality standards. 
  • Purchase new manufacturing equipment, conduct and audit time studies for productivity.
  • Delivers practical, hands-on training to associates on Lean manufacturing and tools to eliminate waste in all administrative, manufacturing and support functions. Measures and reports progress for group level activities on an on-going basis.
  • Develop standards of work and line balancing for productivity.
  • Identify manufacturing cost reductions.
  • Optimize processes to reach product quality, efficiency, and process repeatability.
  • Develop and implement product quality plans, FMEAs, SPC, Cost-Of-Quality objectives. 
  • Execute LEAN manufacturing techniques and design.
  • Optimize workflow and cell designs for shop throughput.
  • Design machine and tools for new product or process.
  • Track and execute cost reduction for process improvements.
  • Plan, execute and manage projects to complete through product continuous improvement.
  • Communicate Lean group's philosophy, vision, and expectations.
  • Develop and sustain employees training and development on lean concepts.
  • Develop measurement systems supporting lean manufacturing philosophy.
  • Lead value stream mapping exercises to determine and record business improvement areas.
  • Plan and reach expense budget objectives

 

What is Required for this Role:

 

 

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, process management, or operations.
  • One to Five years' experience in process optimization, operations, manufacturing.
  • Experience in Six Sigma methodology, tools, and practices (Minimum of Green Belt preferred).
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Experience with CAD, Minitab or statistical data analysis software is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent communication and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft Outlook and Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of environmental health & safety regulations is preferred.
