This position will be responsible for owning design processes for precision vacuum component and module efforts for innovative vacuum infusion of engineered composite products.   

 

 

Your Role and Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform processes such as Pressure Tsing product, RGA Leak Checking, running exhaust pumps, high vacuum, and gas backfilling in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Develop SOP's for the safe and efficient production of thermoformed parts.
  • Participate in technical review of final design documents and drawings including Process Flow Diagrams, Control/Logic Diagrams, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams, Technical Specifications, analysis, calculations, and other design documentation.
  • Direct operation for the vacuum brazes furnace to produce desired properties of complex assembly.
  • Research and investigate the science behind products to improve existing optical systems.
  • Develop and review contamination control plans, formulated mitigation strategies and conducting material analysis.
  • Coordinate and perform thermal bake out and vacuum test for hardware and science instruments.
  • Design and develop mechatronic systems and automation process for the manufacturing of ultra-high vacuum components, considering quality, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Update documentation to capture current process or correct documentation errors.
  • Combine mechanical and electrical elements by sensing and actuation, as well as control systems and software.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • B.S. in Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or equivalent with experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, TurboCAD, or similar.
  • Requires 5+ years of progressively responsible process experience, or other equivalent training and experiences.
  • 3+ years of high vacuum experience in a science or lab environment
  • Prior experience in mechatronics and robotics management within manufacturing or laboratory environment.
  • Manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a safe and productive manner.
  • Expertise with vacuum infusion and experience developing, improving, and modifying manufacturing processes for composite products.
  • Specialized training in vacuum technology and electrical testing
  • Expertise with high vacuum hydrogen furnaces, high vacuum furnaces, and contamination elimination
