Your role and responsibilities: 

 

  • Designs electro-mechanical equipment for application of UV technology and infrared heat to industrial and analytical processes, including concept development, analysis, design layout, prototype development and testing.  

  • Conceptualizes equipment requirements and designs based on customer and sales input; prepares engineering specification and effectively communicates design and specification to sales, the customer, and Engineering. 

  • Works with others to produce and verify manufacturing documentation. Documents designs to the appropriate level and releases designs for build. Organizes and maintains document files. 

  • Assists R&D and Manufacturing with design of test fixtures, selection of custom equipment, etc. 

  • Develops test plans and conducts tests necessary to verify design. 

  • Supports Manufacturing and Customer Service in resolving technical problems or released products. 

  • Establishes and maintains vendor contacts necessary for procurement of parts and materials. 

  • Makes recommendations for changes in procedures, project scheduling, design, or equipment when necessary. 

  • Supports Project Engineer in managing and delivering projects on time.  

 

 

What is required for this role:

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and 5 or more years of experience in the execution of product development projects and supporting/working with manufacturing operations. 

  • Advanced skills in SolidWorks CAD / CAE, required.   

  • Develop top level system architecture and design solutions by analyzing the functional requirements, customer specifications, performance/design/regulatory standards and manufacturing capabilities 

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Internet software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.   

  • Ability to effectively communicate (orally and in writing) with all levels within the organization.
