We are seeking a motivated and process improvement oriented  Production Planner to join our team. The primary responsibility of this position is to work closely with Heraeus Production Manager to coordinate and manage the spare parts planning process for Heraeus Noblelight Gaithersburg location. This role will also assist in the guidance and development of on-the -job training practices and will be responsible for the creation and implementation of standard work practices for the spare parts planning function.

 

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling subassemblies, and final assemblies to customer demand.
  • Creating, releasing, printing, staging and maintaining production orders and work center schedules.
  • Acting as a liaison between Sales Order Entry and Manufacturing.
  • Identifying and monitoring potential material shortages or delivery gaps
  • Identifying assembly cost reductions.
  • Optimizing machining processes to reach product quality, efficiency and process repeatability.
  • Tracking and executing cost reduction for process improvements for the kitting department
  • Planning, executing and managing projects to completion through product continuous improvement.

 

What is Required for the Role:

  • Five years' experience in operations, manufacturing, planning
  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office and SAP highly preferred 
  • Thorough understanding of concepts and theories with regards to material planning and inventory control
  • Great attention to detail
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Communication and analytical problem-solving skills.
