Your role and responsibilities:

You want to combine your expertise in Six Sigma methods with your experience in Data Science? In the Heraeus Digital Hub, you will oversee influential projects in the area of Industry 4.0 & IoT. Here you will optimize production processes in all eleven business units of the Heraeus Group. With the stability of a group that has been family-run for generations & the impact of a start-up, you will have all the tools in hand to technically revolutionize (ubiquitous in everyday life) products with forward-looking technologies as part of a dynamic team. 


In practical this means:

  • You plan improvement projects top down together with the management of the business units.
  • The identification and implementation of data science- and process improvement-projects for our business units.
  • You translate business problems into the mathematical framework of data science is part of your role.
  • You analyze KPIs and problems within the business units to identify potential for improvement.
  • You moderate workshops and coach project managers as an expert for Six Sigma methods and tools.
  • You support internal Six Sigma trainings and the Six Sigma community.
  • Working together with the Group Digital Officer, GBU stakeholders and colleagues from the Digital Hub, you will ensure successful implementation of projects with clear, tangible benefits.
  • As part of our Digital Hub Data Science team, you will analyze complex data from a variety of sources using statistical, machine learning and image processing methods and making intensive use of our data science and IoT platforms.
  • You communicate data analysis results to the management and derive clear proposals for action.

 

What is required for this role:

  • Master degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or a related field
  • Six-Sigma-Black-Belt or equivalent qualification
  • At least 5 years of experience in various functions in the areas of production, engineering, quality assurance, or development
  • Very good knowledge of statistics, data analysis, machine learning, statistical process control, Python and its libraries and cloud technologies
  • At least 2 years practical experience in Data Science and ideally experience with IoT / Industry 4.0 
  • Proven leadership, mentoring skills and effective communication skills at all levels with excellent presentation and strong consulting skills
  • Can-do attitude and excellent team player
  • Fluent English and German
