The following challenges await you:

  • We are looking for a highly motivated Team Lead for our Hydrogen R&D Teams. You will start your Heraeus journey in Germany and after approx. 12 months you will relocate to Shanghai to take over responsibility in their R&D Team.
  • As a key member of our team, your main responsibility will be to develop catalytically active materials for electrochemical applications. 
  • You will have the opportunity to plan suitable synthesis methods and equipment for heterogeneous catalysts, as well as characterize and identify material requirements for electrochemical applications and adjacent material processing. This includes investigating the impact of these materials on ink properties.
  • In this role, you will play a vital part in implementing analytical methods for material characterization and quality control. Additionally, you will design processes for fast scale-up and production transfer, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. 
  • As a technical expert, you will assess and present the results of your research to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Your excellent planning and organizational skills will be utilized as you take charge of planning, acquiring, and managing internal and external projects. 
  • You will also be responsible for addressing application-oriented issues and optimizing processes in close collaboration with our production and customer teams. 
  • Your expertise as an electro-catalyst specialist within HPM China will contribute to our team’s success.
  • Furthermore, as a leader within the projects, you will oversee and provide technical guidance to other team members. Your strong collaboration skills will be essential as you work closely with our global teams in Germany and the US.


Your Profile:

  • Successfully passed studies in natural science or engineering and ideally a PhD
  • Experience in R&D in heterogenous catalysts, preferentially in electrocatalysts
  • Profound knowledge in precious metals, precious metals catalysis and analytical methods
  • Basic know-how in hydrogen electrochemistry and application, e.g. PEM Fuel Cells and PEM electrolyzers
  • Well networked in the field of catalysis
  • Good skills in project and portfolio management
  • Chinese speaking (fluent or native) and advanced skills in English and MS Office
  • Working independently and pro-actively as well as with dedication 
  • Willingness to relocate to China (Shanghai)
