The following challenges await you:

  • You will be responsible for the development and characterization of materials for use in PEM fuel cells (PEM FC) and electrolyzers (PEM EL). This also includes the design, development and verification of suitable reactor technologies for the production of materials for PEM FC & PEM EL.
  • The transfer of laboratory syntheses to production processes as well as the identification of material requirements, ink properties and electrode prerequisites for application-oriented material development are also part of your tasks.
  • You will independently evaluate and present your work results and, if necessary, integrate them into the internal and external projects you have planned, also in a global environment.
  • Furthermore, you will be involved in the implementation of analytical methods for characterization and quality testing.
  • You will also be the central contact for the Global Business Unit Heraeus Precious Metals regarding questions on catalyst materials and catalytic reactions and lead the laboratory team.

 

Your profile:

  • Successfully completed studies in natural sciences or engineering, ideally with PhD as well as several years of experience in the field of research & development with first leadership experience
  • Good knowledge in the field of precious metal chemistry and its catalysis as well as in inorganic chemistry and heterogeneous catalysis
  • Basic knowledge in the field of hydrogen electrochemistry, water electrolysis, fuel cells, as well as their components (CCM, Membrane Electrode Assembleys (MEA), BPP, Flow Field, especially in carbon chemistry and other carbon properties
  • Experience in synthesis and process planning, manufacturing / reactor processes, and physical characterization methods
  • Experience in project, portfolio and quality management
  • Very good English and MS Office skills
  • Willingness to travel
