Your role and responsibilities:

Job Summary - As CDL A Semi-Truck Driver, you will:

  • Operate our 53-foot semi-truck and trailer on a daily basis to deliver products to our facility in Peru, Indiana.  You will also pick up parts from another Indiana location for backhauling to Hartland, Wisconsin.  You WILL NOT load and unload your own truck.
  • Occasionally operate our Sprinter van to deliver finished product to customer locations at steel mills and foundries (in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio regions).  You WILL load and unload products which requires lifting up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Maintain and schedule truck service, gasoline, oil, and repair needs.
  • Prepare and record documentation required by the DOT – State of Wisconsin for over the road drivers.
  • Accurately prepare shipping and other related documentation as well as regular expense reports.
  • Work four, 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, starting at 4:30 a.m. or 5:00 a.m. with a flexible end time.  Work Fridays on an occasional basis.

 

What is required for this role:

  • A passion for the open road!
  • Possess and maintain a valid Class A CDL driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as determined by our insurance company.
  • Experience driving a semi-truck and trailer.
  • Successful passage of regular drug screens, a pre-employment background check, and a pre-employment lift evaluation.
  • A high comfort level driving in busy city traffic and learn how to navigate large steel mill campuses.
  • A high level of integrity, professionalism, motivation, and initiative, with a strong drive to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to modify work schedule to meet company needs.  Volunteer for overtime and additional assignments willingly.
  • Ability to lift and/or move 50 lbs. regularly.
