Heraeus Medical Components (HMC), a global business unit of Heraeus, is a leading contract development and manufacturing partner to medical device manufacturers in cardiac rhythm management, neuromodulation, vascular access & delivery, and biosensors for wearable health solutions. HMC has sites worldwide and this position serves as an Account Manager for Minnesota-based development and production locations for a portfolio of strategic customers. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company and team focused on a high-growth medical segment. 


This role serves as the internal voice of the customer, ensuring a seamless customer experience and overseeing the proper management and follow-through of critical and everyday customer-related activities. As an essential part of the commercial team, you will bring value to Heraeus Medical Components through the following responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with Strategic Accounts and Portfolio Management to enforce strategic sales plans for target accounts and identify growth opportunities, and perform special projects as assigned.
  • Cultivate and enhance customer relationships; leverage relationships to maintain and grow the business through superior customer support and responsiveness.
  • Work internally with Strategic Accounts, Operations, and Customer Service to guide fulfillment activity on behalf of Strategic Customers.  
  • Lead issue resolution for the customer. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve account matters by working with Customer Service, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing to understand root cause & oversee resolution.
  • Through close collaboration with engineering and operations, monitor progress on change requests, cost optimization, and product development projects to ensure they meet or exceed customer expectations.  
  • Direct and oversee new business opportunities through quoting and proposals. This includes product cost planning for reordered products (more complex quote types will be costed by project engineers). Ensure on-going and timely communication to the customer regarding quote status and delivery, meeting internal quote turnaround targets.
  • Engage your local site/region and other international production facilities to ensure alignment for a seamless customer experience.
  • Attend and occasionally lead project meetings, capture meeting minutes and action items for internal and external customer teams.
  • As required, support Strategic Accounts, Technical Business Development, and Portfolio Managers with pre/post-sales activities such as preparation, proposal, and presentation development.
  • Ensure all customer questions and concerns are responded to promptly in alignment with commercial initiatives and company mission.
  • Minimal travel. Opportunity to visit customer facilities to further solidify business relationships.  May include trade shows and customer lunch & learn events.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or related field required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience required including experience in a customer facing role.  Must be technically oriented.  
  • Experience in medical device, automotive, or enterprise B2B sales with contract developed or manufactured products preferred.
  • Working knowledge of CRM and ERP systems 
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized: Able to plan, prioritize, and self-monitor workload, with attention to detail
  • Action Oriented: Strong sense of urgency, able to multitask
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
