Your Role & Responsibilities


  • The Industrial Engineer contributes to the success of Heraeus goals by being the partner and link between development engineering and the operations team to ensure product success at full scale production.
  • Responsible for partnering cross-functionally with the development team and operations team to gather the necessary information to create and maintain the value stream of products as they move through the development process and transfer to production while maintaining timelines set by project manager.
  • Using Lean principles and tools, responsible for helping to determine the best way to design and flow production areas as it relates to the assigned project, this includes safety and ergonomic aspects of workstation setup.
  • Train, mentor and coach others on the Heraeus Production Systems methodology and Lean principles; Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, 7+1 Wastes, Line Balancing. Will be responsible for facilitating Lean trainings.
  • Responsible for supporting the development and implementation of projects intended to help achieve year-over-year metrics.
  • Responsible for maintaining data and generating reports to communicate project status to project team.


What is Required for this Role


  • 4 year technical degree in Engineering or 5 years demonstrated experience in an engineering environment with a minimum of 3 additional years of experience in a manufacturing environment as an engineer.
  • AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, SAP, Minitab
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership skills and self-motivation – change agent  with the ability to train, mentor and coach others.
  • Demonstrated experience with lean and/or 6-sigma (Six Sigma training and field experience preferred)
  • Prior manufacturing process improvement accomplishments and strong project management skills
  • Experience with business process reengineering is a plus
