What you get to do every day:

  • Operates equipment as assigned to manufacture parts from prints to meet specified tolerances with minimal scrap. Requires the ability to follow basic program instructions and perform basic set up tasks.
  • May perform assembly work according to work instructions, customer specifications and in some functions medical clean room requirements.
  • May perform secondary operations which may include soldering under microscope, grinding, drilling, hole punching, deburring, buffing of material, cleaning, laser welding, heat treating, prepping material, finishing, visual inspection or packaging.
  • May perform set-ups as applicable
  • Inspects product to ensure it meets quality requirements and verification using micrometer, CMM, Optical Comparator, caliper, drop indicator, or other inspection equipment. Visually examines finished components for rough edges, cracks and appearance and marks for acceptance or rejection.
  • Follows written instructions accurately including Work Instructions, Control Plans, Part Prints, and Job Travelers.
  • Maintains a productive work pace meeting quotas and flexes among workstations as needed.
  • Uses SPC, histograms and control charts when needed.
  • Supports the team lead as needed.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by Advisor to support the department.
  • Inputs time and production work into the computer daily using current IT systems.
  • Participates and/or assists with cross training activities, training of new hires and temporary staff. Follows set training program for position and ensures training requirements are up to date using training tracking system.
  • Demonstrates safe work habits, and maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Strives for best possible performance
  • Thinks and acts for the company's benefit in line with goals in the triad of: quality - on-time delivery - costs
  • Takes care that a high level of 5S is achieved and maintained at the workplace and in the production area
  • Observes dedicated standards (e.g. SOPs), Heraeus rules and compliance guidelines Regularly keeps informed about and understands the Heraeus Production System (HPS)
  • Continuously develops himself further and improves his workplace
  • Is actively and regularly participating in team dialogs of the department
  • Strives to improve the KPIs in work performed
  • Looks for waste and works together with colleges and Supervisor/Team Leader to continuously improve production
  • Participates in training and strives for flexible employability
  • Has a critical look on defects concerning environmental protection, occupational health and safety (EHS)
  • Makes suggestions for corrective actions to Supervisor/Team Lead

 

What we’re asking of you:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. 
  • Knowledge of ISO, SPC helpful. 
  • Good basic PC skills, including e-mail and time reporting software desired. 
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of microscopes, soldering irons, micrometers, calipers, ultrasonic cleaner, wire cutters, tweezers, dremel tool, as required by position. 
  • Blue Print experience preferred. 
  • Relevant work experience required for coiling, press operator, machining and molding. 
  • Must be proficient in reading and writing in English. 
  • Must have ability to work standard hours set for position and sit and/or stand as needed.
