The primary responsibility of this position is to support the Wilmington manufacturing site with an engineering concentration in the maintenance program for total productive maintenance (TPM).  Works with members of all departments to identify, plan and implement optimal changes in methods, procedures, equipment and systems using engineering practices and methodology for manufacturing maintenance support.


Your Role and Responsibilities:


  • Develop, implement and manage engineering systems for the maintenance and operation of all manufacturing equipment with emphasis on the development of a robust, world class maintenance program
  • Identify, build, implement and manage a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Independently and in cross-functional teams, apply engineering systems to all manufacturing equipment for most effective maintainability and reliability
  • Conduct manufacturing assurance analyses and studies including, but not limited to, system safety, efficiency, affordability, maintainability and reliability
  • Solve completely failures and problems through data analysis, experimentation, troubleshooting and collaboration with all necessary parties
  • Interpret and/or provide engineering drawings, blueprints and technical specifications and compose reports, procedures and forms; Develop, implement and manage the maintenance budget including engineering and maintenance-related consumable and spare parts inventories
  • Source and secure competitive contract bids, present comparative bid reviews, enlist, schedule, supervise and ensure compliance of all executed contract terms and conditions and oversee contractor liability insurance requirements
  • Required to operate company vehicles, industrial forklift, scissor lift and other equipment

What is required for this role:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering – BSME, BSMET or similar
  • Five years of Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Hands-on project management experience required
  • Experience with process development, statistical data analysis and SPC is preferred
  • Direct experience in fused quartz, ceramic, or glass processing is a plus
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism and leadership ability with little supervision
  • Exhibit a high level of motivation and initiative with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written
  • Demonstrated decision making, analytical and organizational skills and team oriented
  • This position requires rotating on-call duties and weekend work as needed
  • Up to 5% travel; international travel may be required
