The Supply Chain Planner is a support role to production.  It requires establishing and maintaining an effective supply chain system from raw material planning and ordering, to delivery of finished product to the end customer.  The Supply Chain Planner also supports the site with all purchasing needs, including converting requisitions, creating annual service POs, and approving spend.  The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for the warehouse, inventory and the staff to support these activities.  Day to day SAP activities are provided by warehouse staff and a product data administrator, to which the Supply Chain Planner leads and supervises.  The Supply Chain Planner Participates in strategic planning with the management team to continuously improve, grow the business, and achieve world class manufacturing status.


The following challenges await you:

  • Ensure the supply chain for raw material receipt thru finished good delivery to customer is maintained efficiently and cost effectively.  Work with the Production Manager to coordinate raw materials and finished deliveries for the make to stock production planning system.
  • Ensure planning staff has tools and information to plan and order raw material just in time for production needs or to meet stocking requirements
  • Maintain a successful vendor management program
  • Manage the Warehouse consumable needs and plan packaging materials
  • Supervise the Warehouse Personnel and ensure inventory control
  • Responsible for consumable purchasing and SAP master data  
  • Participate in strategic planning meetings with the management staff
  • Provide leadership and develop staff, including solving problems and continuously improving efficiencies in the Warehouse, purchasing and with SAP functionality.


Your Profile:

  • BS or BA degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience in MRP or supply chain management
  • Minimum 2 years in management role
  • APICS certification a plus
  • Working knowledge of SAP purchasing and/or production planning modules
  • Demonstrated decision making and logical thinking skills.
  • Good communication skills to interact with Engineering, Production, Sales, supplier, or customer.
  • Proficient with standard Microsoft Office software programs (Word, Excel, Project, Access, Outlook)
