Job Summary: The Benefits and Compensation manager plays a critical role in the life cycle of our workforce. In this role you will focus primarily on the following:  A total rewards strategy consisting of developing, communicating and compensation, benefits, retirement, engagement and other work experience programs, that are cost effective and consistent with labor market trends and regional organizational objectives and also aligned with global priorities.  Main focus includes plan design and marketplace analysis, program compliance, compensation program, relocation services, benefit administration and retirement plans. 

 

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the regional and global HR colleagues and  external advisors and brokers to define company's competitive position in employee benefits and compensation. 
  • Ensures the total package is attractive to retain talent, while considering tax consequences and that the program meets all compliance standards and is aligned with corporate directives.
  • Develops, recommends and installs approved, new or modified plans and employee benefits policies and supervises administration of existing plans.
  • Develops cost control procedures to assure maximum coverage at the least possible cost to company and employee. 
  • Ensures full compliance with all governmental regulations related to compensation and benefits programs throughout all North American operations.   
  • Provides special guidance and assistance to all locations and the HRdirect team on various employee benefit plans, as needed.

 

  

What Is Required For This Role:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or equivalent and minimum of 10 years experience in Benefits and Compensation is required.  The equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. 
  • Certification in Benefits and Compensation; such as CCP, CBP or CEBS is preferred. 
  • Thorough understanding of total rewards philosophy.  
  • Working knowledge and experience in retirement plans, including 401(k) NQDCP and pension plans is necessary.  Familiar with LTIs is a plus. 
  • Experience with benefit plan design and analysis particularly for self funded medical and dental plans. 
  • Experience working with auditors and managing broker and vendor relationships, as well as establishing key performance metrics based on service level agreements.   
  • Thorough knowledge of FMLA, FLSA, COBRA, ACA, ERISA requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to reach a diverse audience.
