 If a diverse workday is satisfying, then this role may be right for you.  This position is part of a global tax function, where you work with colleagues around the globe and partner with North American businesses on unique tax topics. 

The following challenges await you:
 

  • Be the advisor and expert on tax topics pertaining sales and use tax for the U.S. group of businesses, Canada and Puerto Rico.  Managing all aspects of SUT are within your scope of responsibilities.  This includes state topics, occupancy, software, tax compliance, research and planning and managing the sales and use audit process. 
  • Support the Senior Tax Manager with Federal and State income tax compliance, provision, audit and ad hoc projects. 
  • Point of contact for transfer pricing.  Coordinating and providing information and managing external advisory process while aligned with the global tax function. 
  • Work with multiple functions including HR and Holding Company to mitigate tax risks pertaining to expatriate assignments and payroll tax topics. 
  • Support M&A and restructuring projects by participating in the tax due diligence review process and provide guidance on efficient acquisition structure.
  • Partner with business and provide tax training workshops, tools and guidance.
  • Support miscellaneous tax topics; such as, FBAR, 1099 compliance and personal property tax support. 
  • May require some travel.

 

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Finance with major in finance or tax.  A Master’s Degree in Tax is a plus.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Sales and Use Tax.
  • Proficient in the Onesource Sales and Use tax compliance software.
  • Experience working in a corporate function for multinational business is preferred.
  • Overall general tax knowledge is desired.
  • Experience managing tax audits is essential.
  • Experience in transfer pricing concepts is desirable.
  • Some experience in M&A and corporate restricting is desirable. 
  • Some experience with Canadian and Puerto Rico tax compliance is desirable. 
  • Must be able to work effectively with diverse stakeholder group at various levels in the organization.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism and leadership ability; exhibit a high level of motivation and initiative with the ability to meet deadlines.
