The primary responsibility of this position is to act in the capacity of Sales Manager in the Business Unit Recycling for Heraeus Precious Metals North America, LLC.  The Sales Manager is responsible for development and achievement of the Recycling Sales short and medium term budget, servicing existing accounts, developing new customers and markets, implementing innovative “value added” bundled solutions for customers, and reporting monthly sales performance to management.  


Your Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement and direct the sales and marketing budget for the Recycling business segment to which the person is assigned (Refining, Reforming or Burning).  Develop and regularly update the sales and budgets forecasts.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key personnel at existing and potential new customers which create value and develop impactful long-term partnerships. This may involve heavy travel within the United States and Canada.
  • Regularly prospect and develop new opportunities to offer services and products to customers.
  • Constantly evaluate market situation, industry trends, technology trends and competitive environment in relationship to the company’s mid-term strategy.  Regularly update management and technology team on these items.
  • Obtain where possible competitive commercial term information on business unit products and services.  To be passed to management for review on a timely basis.
  • Manage expense budget for sales efforts in accordance with established budget and defined client contact requirements.
  • Work with the appropriate Customer Service personnel for each specific client, providing all information necessary for the Customer Service personnel to be able to keep their records on the client up to date.
  • When necessitated by production, sampling or laboratory needs, become involved in customer prioritizations and outsourcing options.
  • Regularly update the Business Unit Manager and where applicable, the CEO, CFO on the market situation of the Business Unit.
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing personnel from other plants within the Recycling sales team to implement approved worldwide strategies and take care of global customers.
  • Work with internal HPM staff and subcontractors to implement established PM, logistics and other solutions to enhance HPM’s market attractiveness and customer loyalty.  Offer ‘input’ as applicable to assist HPM staff in developing or modifying these solutions as market conditions change.

What is required for the role:

  • BA or BS Degree in business or related subject, or 10+ years of professional sales related experience in a B2B environment
