Incumbent will work out of a home office, preferably in the Chicago area or nearby a major airport in the East or South region.
The position requires supporting the Sales Department in product application and technical sales support projects. Incumbent will help develop and build peripheral systems required for Heraeus Electro-Nite Co. LLC., (HEN) product and technology trials (field and in-house). Incumbent will also, assist in technical presentations with customers and collaborate with project team members (including customers) to design, set-up and gather information and data pertaining to Product Application Projects.
Responsibilities:
- Be an integral part of the Product Applications group.
- Provide quality product application technical support , both to external customers and internal to Heraeus electro-Nite Co. LLC.
- Provide input to application trials of new, re-designed and existing products.
- Assist in the development of hardware for new and existing products (e.g. connectors, cables, contact and communication systems, remote devices, etc.).
- On-site troubleshooting and repair of peripheral systems used in conjunction with HEN products. Collaborate with other functional groups (Quality, instrumentation, Engineering and R&D) where necessary.
- Assist with the investigation of customer issues – work with customers and sales staff when technical issues come up.
- Assist in product Demos, Evaluations and Equipment start-ups as necessary.
- Maintain regular communications and updates on projects to all involved HEN personnel.
- Regular customer visits and field work are important aspects of this position which will require extensive travel by car or airplane.
- Safety should be a primary concern and should be exercised at all times.
- Demonstrate on a continuous basis the professional and personal conduct described and required by Heraeus Electro-Nite Co. LLC Code of Conduct.
- Attend meetings and or conferences as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years electrical or electronic engineering or related technical studies, associate’s degree or technical degree preferred.
- Previous technical work experience in an industrial field highly preferred.
- Computer literacy in basic office software (MS Office) and adaptable to writing software code desired.
- The ability to troubleshoot problems and recommend solutions.
- Broad base of technical understanding with a focus on electrical or electronics.
- Comfortable in discussions with customers.
- Basic understanding of computer communications interfaces.
- Basic understanding of computer networking.
- Basic understanding of PLC and process automation equipment.
- The ability to explain technical material to a broad range of people.
- Willing and able to travel, daily and or overnight, on average 75% of the time.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
