The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct sales of optical quartz materials focusing on scientific application markets such as lasers, astronomy and aerospace. In addition, building up network with decision makers and working close with other sales managers in the US and abroad to support common business goals.

 

Your Role & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the acquisition and growth of optics customers with a focus on scientific applications in America.
  • Clarify customer inquiries, advise and work out complex offers until you ensure incoming orders.
  • Negotiate and review contracts with customers.
  • Expand the network to potential users and important decision-makers.
  • Implement our sales strategy and contribute to the achievement of our business goals.
  • Work closely with the commercial optics counterpart in the US to approach combined customers.
  • Continuously build up application knowledge about optics in the scientific field.
  • Take part and organize regional and national trade fairs and congresses and represent the company through technical lectures and publications.
  • Participate and develop internal sales topics such as forecast, budget, product development, process optimization, social media.

 

What is required for this role:

 

  • Master’s Degree with a technical or scientific focus required. PhD preferred.
  • Must have a knowledge of optics, optical materials or the application areas of lasers, astronomy and aerospace.  The equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience in technical sales.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with SAP, ERP, and CRM a plus
  • Ability to create and deliver effective presentations
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and effective time management skills
