Heraeus Quartz North America has an immediate openeing for a skilled preform welder to join our production team in Buford, GA. The primary responsibility of this position is to be knowledgeable & skilled in all areas of both the S-Zug Operator position. The Operator position will be utilized in both areas as deemed necessary by the SZUG Operator depending on the production needs.

Your Role and Responsibilites:

• Performs all aspects of the Operator position including the Tipping oven.
• Operates two S-Zugs simultaneously.
• Must be able to operate tubing and preform S-Zugs.
• Assists with heater rebuilds as needed & general preventive maintenance (PM’s) on all S-Zugs.
• Prepares and completes all required paperwork, SAP and QDC entries.
• Monitors the work of the CMI(s) and reviews the accuracy of the work being performed, data entries, & paperwork submitted by them.
• Loads cylinders.
• Applies knowledge of SPC visual and dimensional criteria.
• Ensures that the quality standards for each product are being met.
• Alerts the Supervisor on duty of any mechanical, quality, or production issues.

What is Required for this Role:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. 
• 4 years of relevant experience required. 
• A minimum of 6 months in a manufacturing environment a plus. 
• Demonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism, and leadership ability.
