“Some projects look straightforward at first glance - until you're in the middle of them. A prime example? The redesign of our careers page. One or two challenges quickly emerged here. The solution to this complex task turned out to be a puzzle of strategy, creativity and technical know-how.

When many minds become one

But the best thing about it was the teamwork that brought everything together: Ines held the strings together as project manager, Heiner steered the strategic direction, Claudia fine-tuned the texts and Lisa ensured perfect coordination with Recruiting. Then there were our teams from IT, Corporate Communications and external partners, in other words a wide range of expertise and perspectives. At the end of the day, I found this “colorful mix” to be extremely productive - and instructive for all of us. Even at the go-live of a career site that not only works, but really convinces and inspires.

I also experienced this energy and dynamism in other projects during my time at Heraeus - one of them was the Value Creation Plan for the then Business Conamic. It goes without saying that developing a strategic roadmap as the first unit was no small task. It was a real mammoth task. But one that was worth it.

Of course, the timeline was tight, expectations were high and the goal was clear. And we delivered. So we needed experts from all areas: Innovation, Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Production, HR and many more, as well as the external perspective on our markets. Everyone brought their knowledge to the table: Ideas were discussed, discarded, improved - until we had a solution that worked just as well on paper as it did in practice.

Every step counts

But what really drives me is more than just the result. It's the moment when I see colleagues surpass themselves. When someone discovers a new skill, a team member takes the next step in their career or an idea creates real impact, as the saying goes. This is exactly what makes our work special: we don't just want to improve, we really want to make a difference. And that's exactly what we do. Together. With every project. With every step.”
