We are seeking a skilled CNC Machine Tool Setter to join our team, responsible for setting up cutting and shaping tools for precision CNC machine operations. This role involves accurately measuring and marking reference points, securing workpieces, and adjusting machine components using basic hand tools and specialized equipment. The ideal candidate will coordinate with operations to preset tools and efficiently manage tooling inventory and fixtures. This position follows a 3x12 shift schedule, working Friday to Sunday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and eligible to be paid for 40-hours. Your role and responsibilities

  • Assemble and tear down of tooling such as end mills and drills.
  • Prepare necessary tooling to ensure CNC uptime and maintain supermarket for additional tooling
  • Pre-setting of tools using a Pre-setter and utilization of balancer
  • Maintain fixture locations, tooling cabinets and shadow boards
  • Maintain & distribute tooling carts as necessary
  • Utilize Kanban to reorder tooling as needed and follow up with supply chain as needed.
  • Maintain Quality standards and Objectives
  • Support 5S and other Lean Manufacturing initiatives
  • Trains and instructs other employees as directed
  • Other duties as assigned

What is required for this role

  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and adherence to attendance policy.
  • Ability to inspect, mount, align, and secure tools for CNC production.
  • Proficiency in using pre-setters, balancers, and measurement tools like calipers and micrometers.
  • Experience with inventory management systems such as Kanban and min/max.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to read, write, and speak English to follow instructions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; knowledge of electro/mechanical principles preferred.
  • Familiarity with tool room surface grinders is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, safety consciousness, and concern for quality work.
  • Ability to support 5S and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Capability to train and instruct other employees as directed.
