Job Summary
The following challenges await you:
- The primary responsibility of this position is to act as the customer liaison, providing technical solutions and support, participating in technical discussions regarding product lines, processes, material applications, and any issues, related to electronic assembly materials, including on-site servicing and qualification support of new product introductions and existing Assembly Materials products.
- Demonstrate an advanced knowledge of the materials science used in the application of finished goods and the effect on performance. Identify new technology and product trends, and applications and communicate to supervisor. Must be able to efficiently operate a Stencil printer, SPI, Pick & Place, Reflow Oven, and Xray Machine.
- Act as the technical “voice” of the customer internally - function as a resource to sales, marketing, research and development, engineering and production by providing detailed product information and advanced application knowledge. Drive support technically in pre-sales through post-sales phase. Travel in the field as necessary.
- Analyze, identify, and resolve technical problems or complaints from customers in order to maintain and increase business in the most accurate and timely manner. Lead cross-functional teams to address complex technical problems or customer complaints. Work on customer line to solve customer complaints and/or process issues. Support complaint resolution process at customer site by communication of 8D reports.
- Promote new products and company to customers and industry. Attend technical conferences, trade shows, and educational courses to remain current in the field as it relates to existing and future technologies.
- Author and/or present technical reports, technical papers, project updates, and technical overviews for internal presentation, journals, and conferences. Create and provide updates to product data sheets and technical data packages.
- Execute product testing/ benchmarking, supporting the development and modification of new and existing products for new applications.
Your Profile
We are looking for people who are not just open to new ideas, but want to bring fresh thinking, energy and a creative perspective to their work. Some of the traits and qualifications the ideal candidate would possess include:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Material Science or Engineering with a minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience in a related position, are required. The equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Should have a solid understanding of; and hands-on experience working with electronic assembly materials such as solder pastes, solder powders, sinter pastes, fluxes, SMT Adhesives, Conductive Adhesives, Non-conductive Adhesives, or related, as well as their associated applications and processes.
- Must be able to show clear successful cases of process and defect troubleshooting in the field.
- Self-starter with an attention to detail required. Demonstrate a high level of professionalism; exhibit a high level of motivation and initiative.
- Must be able to travel 30 - 50% to visit customers domestically, present technical papers, and attend conferences.
- Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus, but Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
