Your role and responsibilities

  • Summary – Evaluate work processes to determine strategies and programs which provide greater productivity and efficiency of production functions by performing the following duties.
  • Oversee the installation and startup of new equipment and initiate any modifications, as they become necessary.
  • Troubleshoot equipment or machine problems that are used on the floor for production.   Respond to feedback and improvement suggestions from operators about the machines, fixtures and other equipment.
  • Provide technical support for production area staff.  Improve production through the implementation of new processes and equipment.
  • Create assembly drawings of equipment, fixtures & electrical diagrams using AutoCAD.
  • Update OMS documents used in the manufacturing process.
  • Gather information to evaluate current work processes to determine the flow of work, time requirements, costs, and duration using Lean and Six Sigma and other continuous improvement concepts.
  • Investigate, develop, propose and implement cost saving measures regarding the manufacture of products.

What is required for this role

  • Four-Year College Degree in an Engineering Field – preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Biomedical or Industrial.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for mechanical design.
  • Process-engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience in PLCs, Automated Manufacturing Machinery, and production operations.
  • Prior experience in the successful selection, justification and installation of capital equipment.
  • Mechanically inclined, hands on, with the demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment and correctly identify required repairs.
  • Prior experience and training in Lean and Six Sigma, certification preferred.
  • Computer Skills:  Computer literate in basic application software systems.  Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, Visio, SAP, AutoCad, Minitab, web-based applications, Teams, etc.  Utilize OEE Reader, e-VSM, etc. to work with data acquisition and analysis.
  • Local to the job’s location - resides in the greater Milwaukee area and does not require sponsorship to work in the US now, or at any point in the future.
