The primary responsiblity of this position is to act as a Production Supervisor of the Recyclying Production Departments (General Refinery) departments for Heraeus. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-today execution of all General Refinery processes to meet customer demands while maintaining a reasonable margin. Furthermore, they are fully responsible for all issues related to the Recyclying operations department.
Your Role and Responsibliles:
- · Leads the General Refinery in the day-today execution of PM compound production.
- · Maximizes and measures the productivity of all chemical production related functions and adjusts methods, processes, procedures and training where needed to increase productivity, efficiency and safety.
- · Optimizes precious metal throughput, lead time and quality in General Refinery.
- · Reduces overtime and shift handover time and costs in the department.
- · Assures precious metal security during all processes and especially during handovers to adjacent departments. Furthermore, assures precious metal tracking in the department and during handovers to other departments.
- · Is responsible for the reduction of occupational accidents in the area.
- · Assures safety and environmental training for his staff.
- · Is responsible for compliance with the Quality systems (ISO) in the assigned department.
- · Works with Maintenance and Process development develops a preventing maintenance program, which will reduce breakdowns and still stands to an absolute minimum.
- · Works with support staff to assure employees’ and the company’s adherence to quality, safety and environmental standards that exceed the industry minimum.
- · Provides information for MSDS creation and up dates to the EHS department.
- · Together with Process Development implements new processes and technology. Assures that new technologies and processes match the needs of the General Refinery. Recyclying Production Manager initiates Process Development Tasks for his departments and signs the transfer and completion of the Task into production.
What is required for the role:
- An experienced Chemist with appropriate industry experience, preferably in the precious metals industry.
- · An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
- · A strategic individual with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
- · A well-organized and self-directed individual who is "politically savvy" and a team player.
- · An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
- · Master Degree in Chemistry, PhD or with a minimum of 5 years working experience in the field of PM compounds production and/or research and development.
