Heraeus Quartz North America has an immediate opening for a skilled Assembly Operator to join our Cylinder Prep team in Buford, GA. The primary responsibility for this position is to assemble customer-supplied core rods with assigned cylinders for processing on the oven towers to produce quartz glass preforms.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Receive and identify appropriate customer-supplied core rods for assembly.
  • Etch core rods with the HF tank and maintain a clean air environment for the purest form of glass.
  • Insert core rods into cylinders and place assemblies on oven ready racks.
  • Record data/transactions within QDC/SAP system.
  • Perform additional housekeeping and cleaning tasks.
  • Support 5S program within assembly area.
  • Cover other cylinder prep positions as needed.
  • Support all activities within the department as needed or instructed; assist all positions in the department when possible.

What is required for this role:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 6-months of manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Self-directed and motivated with the ability to meet deadlines.
