Heraeus Quartz North America, LLC. has an immediate opening for a Quality Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team at our Buford, GA. location. The primary responsibility of this position is to plan and conduct activities concerned with the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
·Promote safety and quality as the top priorities throughout the business
·Interface with production daily to ensure proper execution of the company’s quality assurance program.
·Work with all departments to establish procedures, standards, and systems and continuously improve them.
·Act as a catalyst for change and help to manage change in a systematic way.
·Perform root-cause investigations in response to external and internal issues.
·Host kaizens and lead other activities to further continuous improvement.
·Develop new programs to facilitate smooth operation with new equipment and processes.
·Manage, lead and/or support functions of the Continuous Improvement program.
·Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, testing, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
·Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
·Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.
·Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
·Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
·Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.
·Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management.
·Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
·Perform ISO-9001 – 2015 Internal audits and facility 5s audits.
·Resource back up for SAP data quality module
What is required for this role:
·Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field required.
·Minimum of 3 years relevant quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
·Project management experience.
·Proficiency in Lean and Six Sigma Practices, problem-solving, and ISO-9001 2015
·Demonstrated leadership aptitude.
·ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred.
