As a Finance Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire month-end close process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, monitoring and enforcing internal controls to protect company assets, and resolving discrepancies in financial transactions. You will collaborate with Heraeus team members both locally and globally to ensure compliance with regulatory and tax return schedules.
Your Role and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned as required):
- Act as a key resource for the site, integrating closely with various departments such as Procurement, Inventory, and R&D to ensure accurate financial transaction recording.
- Review financial transactions daily to ensure compliance with group procedures and adapt local processes as necessary.
- Lead and actively manage all controlling and financial issues, providing hands-on support to assist with site growth.
- Prepare and maintain management accounts and internal controls, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data.
- Assist the Head of Finance in preparing the annual budget and rolling forecasts, collaborating effectively with sales and production teams.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key personnel at the Shared Service Center and corporate controlling in Germany.
- Prepare management accounts and define key performance indicators, ensuring timely monthly reporting and analysis.
- Ensure the credibility and accuracy of financial and controlling reports by issuing necessary guidelines and adhering to best practices.
What is Required for the Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the manufacturing accounting industry; CPA or CMA preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Proficient in ERP systems, such as SAP, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of small or start-up business environments, with a strong desire to foster personal and company growth.
- Qualified accountant demonstrating ambition and the ability to develop within a global organization.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to initiate growth in administrative areas and manage teams effectively.
- Preferable background in manufacturing with a comprehensive finance skill set and strong management and leadership abilities.
- Broad commercial talent and background, essential for strategic financial decision-making.
- Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated high level of integrity and professionalism.
- Exhibits strong motivation, initiative, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Commitment to high ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring compliance in all aspects of financial management.
