The primary responsibility of this position is to partner with global strategic account management teams and contribute to generating sales, through direct customer engagement, technical proposal scoping and generation, and manage leads created through outbound marketing channels.

What you get to do everyday

  • Work in collaboration with the Strategic Account Management (SAM) Team to serve as the key technical liaison between the customer and Heraeus from early engagement into deal close.  Where the SAM is not assigned, the Applications Engineering Manager will be expected to manage the customer holistically with the support of the Heraeus Medevio engineering and Internal Account Managers (IAMs) 
  • Focus on determining design feasibility, technical capability fit, and project viability for potential opportunities and brokering partnerships with Heraeus engineering resources through the development of quotations and project proposals.
  • Assist with the translation & evolution of the customer’s therapy roadmap, product strategy, technology portfolio, regulatory strategy, and business model
  • Expand customer knowledge of Heraeus’ capabilities and products by partnering with marketing to develop technical lunch and learns, webinars, demos and other key marketing materials to promote our capabilities in broad channels and within customer meetings.
  • Responsible for expanding customer contacts, building relationships among customer technical community, be a role model for the technical expertise profile of Heraeus within key customer base.
  • Identify partnership opportunities within new and existing accounts, both for future products and expansion of current products
  • Work closely with Strategic Account Managers, Inside Account Managers, and Customer Service teams to champion new request for quotations/proposals.    
  • Continuously expand and develop industry knowledge within technical focus area for the purpose of educating internal Heraeus employees.
  • Work towards becoming an industry thought leader through engagement with customers, KOLs, suppliers, and partners. Engagement through projects, conference engagements, white-paper engagements, and social media channels. 
  • Support M&A due diligence as a subject matter expert
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related field required, MBA preferred
  • A minimum of 7 years of engineering and / or sales experience
  • Demonstrated success in previous product or business generation role indicating a high level of performance
  • Experience with development of implantable medical devices (e.g. neuromodulation and/or cardiac rhythm management) preferred
  • Experience working in a regulated environment a plus, but not essential
  • Ability to work independently
  • Highly accountable for personal performance to effect sales goal achievement
  • Flexibility to travel frequently and at short notice, up to 30% of the time, including internationaltravel
  • Fluent English written and oral communication skills
  • Previous experience teaching and educating customers on product and technically relevant informaiton preferred

Medevio is committed to providing competitive total compensation and benefits packages. The expected base salary hiring range for this position is between $105,000 to $137,000 annually, based upon a full-time schedule. This is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. Base salaries are determined by taking a variety of factors in account, including, but not limited to, candidate qualifications, geographic locations, market conditions and internal equity. This position is bonus eligible, with a target bonus of 15% of base salary depending upon company and individual performance. Our total compensation package also includes eligibility for comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, education reimbursement, paid parental leave and paid time off.
