The primary responsibility of this position is to act as a Supervisor of the Production Department for Heraeus Metals Processing, LLC in TN in accordance with Heraeus Holding and W.C Heraeus World Wide management principles. The Supervisor of the Production Department is responsible for the 2nd Shift execution of all Department related processes to meet production demands and quality expectations while maintaining compliance of Environmental, Health, & Safety Standards.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Supervises the Wartburg facility for 2nd shift production activities while striving to increase productivity and standards by best utilizing Production personnel and equipment.
- Continuous auditing of all 2nd shift production activities to ensure procedures are being adhered to, while leading operators with the intent to develop one unified team.
- Establishes routines and measurements to assure that Company resources, (equipment and personnel) are being utilized at optimum efficiency.
- Optimizes throughput, cycle time, 1st pass yield and product/process quality.
- Continuous presence in all production areas.
- Consults with Production Manager to critique current procedures as to what updates are needed to better streamline them.
- Provides guidance to all Lead personnel and equipment operators to identify and implement methods for more efficient processing of materials.
- Assures an adequate number of trained personnel are available to support materials processing requirements and encourages and promotes adherence to all safety rules.
- Determines and formalizes responsibilities of assigned staff.
- Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and complies with company, government and customer policies, procedures and regulations, materials management.
- Insist on, and maintains a clean, orderly, and professional production operation and image for the Wartburg facility.
What is required for this role:
- High school diploma or equivalent. 5 to 7 years related experience
- Experience working with international colleagues and/or customers as well as a comfort level reporting in a matrix organization
- Trustworthy, willing to share information as appropriate and serve as a mentor
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Strong business and financial acumen
- Flexible to work long hours as required
- Up to 5% travel required
