The primary responsibility of this position is to performs routine operation, monitoring, and maintenance of wastewater treatment systems, air scrubber systems, and environmental control equipment to support safe and compliant manufacturing operations. Ensures environmental processes are operated in accordance with company procedures, regulatory requirements, and established safety standards

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Wastewater Treatment Operations
    • Operate wastewater treatment systems under established operating procedures and supervisor guidance.
    • Monitor and record process parameters including pH, ORP, tank levels, flow rates, and chemical additions.
    • Perform routine treatment activities including neutralization, chemical additions, filtration, and sludge handling as required.
  • Scrubber System Monitoring
    • Monitor scrubber systems to ensure proper operation and environmental compliance. 
    • Complete required inspections, operating checks, and log entries for assigned equipment.
  • Sampling & Documentation
    • Collect wastewater samples and prepare samples for laboratory analysis according to established procedures. 
    • Complete operational records, treatment logs, discharge records, calibration checks, and equipment inspection forms accurately and timely. 
  • Equipment Care & Maintenance
    • Perform routine inspections of pumps, tanks, piping, valves, chemical feed systems, and monitoring equipment.
    • Assist with preventive maintenance activities and report equipment issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
  • Hazardous Waste Handling
    • Handle, label, and manage hazardous waste materials according to company procedures and regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain proper housekeeping and waste storage practices within designated areas.
  • Safety & Compliance

What is required for this role:

  • Education
    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Technical coursework in Environmental Technology, Water Treatment, Chemistry, or related field preferred.
  • Experience
    • 0–2 years of industrial, manufacturing, environmental, water treatment, or related experience preferred.
    • Experience working with chemicals, environmental systems, or industrial operations is beneficial.
  • Work week: one week 3 days scheduled, 4 days off and following week 4 days scheduled, 3 days off
  • 12 hour shifts bringing you to 28 hours of overtime pay per pay check + opportunity for additional overtime.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and convert calculations to percentage and to metric system.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; smell.
  • Must be able to  occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May be assigned shifts that include evening, nights and/or weekend days.
  • Able to successfully complete a background check, pre-placement physical exam and drug screen.
