Summary

The primary responsibility of this role is to plan, schedule, and expedite production and material flow to achieve production goals and meet customer delivery requirements. This position is also responsible for managing WIP and finished goods inventory and ensuring timely and accurate transaction processing in the planning system. The role works closely with Operations and Customer Service to ensure production schedules align with customer demand.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage the site Master Production Schedule (MPS) in SAP to meet customer demand.
  • Execute short- and long-term production plans to balance supply, demand, and inventory targets.
  • Prioritize and adjust production orders based on demand, material availability, and capacity constraints.
  • Oversee material flow across departments to ensure efficient and uninterrupted production.
  • Utilize SAP to support production planning, scheduling, and accurate transaction processing.
  • Ensure availability of raw materials and create purchase requisitions to support production schedules.
  • Manage Kanban and consumable inventory to maintain continuous production operations.
  • Coordinate with Customer Service to schedule shipments and meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Monitor production performance and support KPI tracking (e.g., schedule attainment, on-time delivery).
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning, scheduling, and material flow processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent combinations of education and 5-7+ years of relevant experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience managing MRP-driven production plans, inventory levels (WIP, raw, finished goods), and order prioritization.
  • Practical experience using ERP systems for planning and execution; SAP experience strongly preferred, including transaction accuracy and schedule management.
  • Working knowledge of MRP, capacity planning, and pull/Kanban replenishment systems, applied in a production environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, basic data analysis) used to manage schedules, inventory, or KPIs.
  • Experience supporting or achieving key planning metrics such as schedule attainment, on-time delivery, inventory turns, or backlog reduction.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust production plans in response to changing demand, material availability, or capacity constraints.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with Operations, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Sales to resolve issues and meet delivery commitments.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with demonstrated contributions to process improvements in planning, scheduling, or material flow.
