Position Summary

The Planner/Buyer is responsible for scheduling and capacity planning to ensure revenue, profitability and on time delivery goals are achieved.  In this role, the Planner/Buyer will be a purchasing transaction generalist responsible for a wide variety of purchasing support, and be expected to provide excellent support, service and communication to all customers, internal. 

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare schedules in the ERP system and coordinate activities to ensure on time delivery, revenue and profitability. 
  • Provides capacity planning figures for both HR requirements and machine requirements. 
  • Monitor actual production vs. plan and provide analytical support for improvement opportunities. 
  • Act as liaison between production, sales, purchasing, engineering and quality to ensure on time delivery.  Assist in identifying and eliminating bottlenecks.
  • Completing purchases in accordance with specifications, price and policy.  Expediting to ensure timely delivery of purchase orders.
  • Maintain purchasing data in vantage and monitor parts that are run on schedule.  Run time-phase reports and release shop orders needed and update sales order. 
  • Maintain inventory levels throughout plant, continually monitoring and reducing levels whenever possible. 
  • Provides short- and long-range projections on raw materials, price and supply situations to management for planning purposes, including yearly standard raw material costs and evaluations. 
  • Coordinating the return of damaged goods, arranging for replacements or credits and documenting all transactions. 
  • Assist with system implementation and improvements both with ERP and business systems. 
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

What is Required for This Role: 

  • Associates degree or 2 years of work-related experience in a similar role.
  • ERP experience, SAP preferred
  • Fully Bilingual (Read, Speak, Write in English/Spanish) with good communication skills
  • Ability to effectively improve processes with minimal direction and information
  • Demonstrate a high level of initiative and creativity
  • Detail oriented
  • Computer savvy
  • Distinguished through consistent display of leadership by example in accordance with HMC ethics statement
