Position Summary

The Senior Engineering Technician for Lasers will partner with a team of engineers to run laser cutting processes. This includes laser set up, operation, troubleshooting, and cleaning all laser equipment as indicated by specialized standards.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced technician support for laser cutting projects 

  • Sets up, runs, and adjusts laser equipment per specialized standards on multiple pieces of machinery and/or processes

  • Performs quality checks and examines product for defects and size variations and completes production documentation

  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems as needed. Take action to ensure quality limits and efficiency targets are met.

  • Works independently with little supervision

  • Create draft manufacturing documents including work instructions, certification checklists, visual aids, setup sheets, maintenance sheets, etc. 

  • Provide advanced support for transitioning projects into production including training of personnel 

  • Provide ongoing engineering support optimizing tooling and production processes.  Implements controlled changes, within established parameters and process change procedures.

  • Provide training to others based on expertise or demonstrated work performance.  

  • Other duties as needed or assigned.

What is Required for This Role:

  • High School Diploma required and 2-year technical degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years technician level experience required including previous experience in laser cutting processes.

  • Experience with a variety of laser cutting processes and development, including CNC machining programming codes (G&M), AutoCAD, A3200 HMI (motion composer, digital scope).

  • Direct experience participating in complex projects to commercialization strongly preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of equipment setup including setup for long term manufacturing required.

  • Experience reading prints, troubleshooting, fixture design and manufacturing.

  • Experience with measurement equipment & methods.

  • Experience with Cagila (CAM) and Niti, CoCr, SST, and knowledge and experience in troubleshooting electrical panels and control systems are preferred.

  • Safety training in lasers a plus.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be willing and able to travel between the Fridley and White Bear Lake, Minnesota facilities as needed.

Medevio is committed to providing competitive total compensation and benefits packages. The expected hiring range for this position is between $30.00 and $40.00 based upon a full-time schedule. This is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. Base salaries are determined by taking a variety of factors in account, including, but not limited to, candidate qualifications, geographic locations, market conditions and internal equity. This position is bonus eligible, with a target bonus of 2.5% of base salary depending on company performance. Our total compensation package includes eligibility for comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, education reimbursement, paid parental leave and paid time off.
