The primary responsibility of this position is to be able to troubleshoot problems and develop new methods as needed.  Able to logically track down problems to their root cause.  Resolve personnel issues in a forthright orderly manner.  Determine reasonableness of analytical results with regard to customer, method capability and lot value.  Use independent action to quickly determine need for reassay and correct method. 

Your Role and Responsibilites:

  • Performs precise and well documented analysis in support of analytical testing. 
  • Performs general laboratory methods and tasks according to assigned written procedures. 
  • Checks balance calibration, once per week. 
  • Checks and records airflow on lab hoods. Notifies supervisor if out of specification 
  • Updates supervisor on status of all analyses and needed work 
  • Assures all methods are properly documented according to HMPI QA/QC policies. 
  • Keeps assigned equipment in functional operating condition, cleaned and available. Monitors equipment and supply needs and promptly informs supervisor of action to ensure uninterrupted workflow 
  • Ensures personal and overall laboratory work areas are organized and clean. Performs all necessary housekeeping as directed and required. Leaves workplace in clean and orderly condition at end of shift 
  • Suggests equipment, supply and resource needs for long term viability of the lab. 
  • Understanding of Company Quality Mission and specific laboratory QC/QA protocols. 
  • Understands and can perform all necessary QC/QA and corrective actions. 
  • Understands job safety requirements. 
  • Works under direct supervision of laboratory supervisor or another laboratory employee as assigned by supervisor or manager. 
  • Specific laboratory tasks deemed necessary for proper laboratory function as assigned by laboratory management. 

What is required for this role: 

  • Some laboratory experience preferred 
  • High school diploma, associate college degree, BS in scientific degree (preferred)
