JOB PURPOSE

Design, implement and monitor highly capable and effective calibration processes in compliance with applicable regulations and company practices to meet business goals and objectives, along with providing technical support, training and recommendations associated to calibrations best practices to personnel using production and inspection equipment and instrumentation, resulting in optimum manufacturing practices, high-quality products, and the best use of company’s resources.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES 

1.         Perform planned and non-planned calibration activities by assessing priorities, workload, production schedule, suppliers and equipment/instrumentation availability, and budget.

2.         Applies knowledge of technical concepts, from basic to complex, towards the resolution of issues related to calibrated equipment or instrumentation and development calibration tasks.

3.         Maintains the Calibration Management System (CMS) by supporting equipment and calibration activities inclusions and modifications, closing calibration activities, and uploading attachments assuring a high level of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) on data entries.

4.         Propose, implement, and track continuous improvement and cost reduction projects

EDUCATION

•           Technical degree in calibrations.

•           Technical degree in electronics, electromechanical, electricity or field related.

•           25-50% of bachelor’s degree in engineering field (Industrial, Electrical, Electromechanical, or related).

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

•           Proficient in Office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point)

•           Proficient in GDP’s (Good Documentation Practice)

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge in standards and regulations for medical industry (FDA, TUV, ISO, ANVISA)
  • Knowledge in Quality Management per ISO-13485
  • Intermediate to high spoken and written English
  • Knowledge in statistical techniques
  • Knowledge in SAP  

EXPERIENCE

•           1+ years of experience in Calibrations

•           Experience calibrating equipment for medical industry

License or certification (preferred)

  • Certified in ISO17025
  • Certified as Yellow belt Six Sigma
