Repair molten metal sensor measurement lances, accompanying hardware, and instrumentation to achieve company goals and customer satisfaction. Deliver new and or repaired measurement lances to customer sites and pick-up used lances in need of repair. Perform inventory management as well as customer service duties while visiting customer sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as required):

  • Construct new sensor lances in accordance with existing drawings and repair used sensor lances in accordance with technical specifications.
  • Operate an effective system for shipment and delivery of sensor lances, cables, and associated equipment (e.g. packaging, documentation preparation, etc.).
  • Construct new cables and associated equipment in accordance with existing drawings.
  • Repair existing cables and associated equipment in accordance with technical specification.
  • Maintain an effective inventory parts supply system.
  • Conduct quarterly physical inventory at the Medina shop to ensure alignment with SAP records.
  • Drive company vehicle to pick-up and deliver lances to customers and or to respond to customer service calls to conduct troubleshooting of product or instrumentation.
  • Conduct monthly pickups of sensor lances and hardware from HEN Hartland, WI, and collect additional materials from other Heraeus Electro-Nite locations as needed for customer trials and projects.
  • Perform inventory checks of Heraeus Electro-Nite products at customer sites and coordinate with inventory managers to maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Maintain the facility and equipment to ensure a clean, orderly work environment.
  • Perform routine calibrations on molten metal hydrogen measurement systems and field instrumentation. Submit and manage Return Material Authorization (RMA) requests to ensure timely repair and return of equipment.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Strong Mechanical Aptitude.
  • Ability to read a tape measure, work instructions, detailed drawings/blueprints.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, including heavy wrenches and pipes.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and adherence to the attendance policy.
  • Self-starter with a strong customer-first mindset.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Willing to be cross-trained and work across multiple areas, including product assembly and repair, shipping, receiving, wrapping, operating fork/Terret trucks, pick up & delivery and inventory management.
  • Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculation.
  • Team-oriented with a willingness to support and train colleagues.
  • Demonstrates safe work practices and actively supports departmental and plant safety initiatives through continuous improvement.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
